Abstract

Background: Patient safety is a system where hospitals make patient care safer. One of these systems is the implementation of solutions to minimize risks and prevent injuries due to falls.

Objective: To find out the description of the implementation of patient safety, risk of falls in class III inpatient rooms at Lumajang Hospital.

Method: This research uses data from interviews and observations with descriptive analysis.

Research Results: In this scientific work, the implementation of patient safety for the risk of falls is optimal, nurses carry out an assessment of the risk of falls, but there are points that are sometimes not implemented according to the existing SPO. Points for installing fall risk markers in patients with a high risk of falling.

Conclusion: The nurse carried out an assessment using the Morse Fall Scale (MFS) and then determined a score to determine the level of risk of falling, but in patients with a high risk of falling, a marker for falling risk had not been installed. This can be triggered because the number of human resources and skills is inadequate, thus requiring training that can increase human resources
