Plagiarism Policy
Blambangan Journal of Nursing and Health Sciences (BJNHS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and originality in scholarly publishing. Plagiarism in any form is considered unethical and unacceptable.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
- Direct copying of text, data, figures, or ideas without proper citation
- Substantial similarity with previously published works without acknowledgment
- Self-plagiarism, including redundant or duplicate publication of the author’s own previously published work without proper disclosure
- Paraphrasing another author’s work without appropriate citation
Plagiarism Screening
All manuscripts submitted to BJNHS are screened for plagiarism using plagiarism detection software before peer review and may be re-evaluated at any stage of the editorial process.
Similarity Threshold
- A manuscript with an overall similarity index exceeding acceptable limits or showing inappropriate overlap in key sections (e.g., Introduction, Results, Discussion) will be subject to editorial action.
- Similarity arising from references, methodological descriptions, or standard terminology will be assessed contextually.
Editorial Actions
Based on the results of plagiarism screening, the editorial team may take one or more of the following actions:
- Minor similarity: The manuscript may be returned to the author for revision and proper citation.
- Significant plagiarism or unethical overlap: The manuscript will be rejected without further review.
- Plagiarism detected after publication: The article may be retracted in accordance with ethical publishing standards.
Authors’ Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for:
- Ensuring the originality of their manuscripts
- Properly citing all sources and acknowledging prior work
- Declaring any overlapping publications or related manuscripts at the time of submission
Submission of a manuscript to BJNHS implies that the authors accept and agree to comply with this plagiarism policy.

BJNHS applies a zero-tolerance approach toward plagiarism and academic misconduct. All cases are handled fairly, transparently, and in accordance with established ethical guidelines and best practices in scholarly publishing.
