Training of Posyandu Cadres in Increasing Knowledge about Primary Service Integration Posyandu (ILP)

Abstract

The Primary Service Integration Posyandu (ILP) is a strategic policy in strengthening community-based primary health services that requires the readiness and capacity of posyandu cadres as the main implementers at the community level. However, the limited knowledge of cadres regarding the concept and implementation of the ILP Posyandu is still an obstacle in its implementation. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge of posyandu cadres about the ILP Posyandu through structured training. The implementation method includes interactive lectures, discussions, and simulations which were attended by 30 posyandu cadres in the work area of the Binakal Health Center. Evaluation was carried out using a knowledge questionnaire through pretest and posttest. The results of the evaluation showed an increase in the average cadre knowledge score from 56.3 before training to 82.7 after training. In addition, the percentage of cadres with a good level of knowledge increased from 3.3% in the pretest to 76.7% in the posttest. Cadres also show a better understanding of the concept of service integration, the flow of services of the ILP Posyandu, as well as the roles and duties of cadres in supporting its implementation. This activity proves that the training of posyandu cadres is effective in increasing the knowledge and readiness of cadres in the implementation of the ILP Posyandu. Therefore, continuous cadre training is recommended as a strategy to strengthen community-based primary health services.
