Uncontrolled hypertension can lead to complications and increase mortality. The aim of the “Smart Elderly” community service program is to improve the health of elderly individuals with hypertension. The community service methods included health examinations, health education, and the implementation of a healthy lifestyle through the DASH diet and autogenic relaxation techniques. The program involved 20 elderly participants in RW 02, Nangkaan Village, Bondowoso District. The results showed that before the educational sessions, the elderly, health cadres, and family members had limited understanding of hypertension management and the DASH diet. After the education sessions, their understanding improved significantly. The average blood pressure before autogenic relaxation was 150 mmHg systolic and 80 mmHg diastolic. After the relaxation session, the average blood pressure decreased to 130 mmHg systolic and 70 mmHg diastolic, reflecting a reduction of 20 mmHg in systolic and 10 mmHg in diastolic pressure. The “Smart Elderly” program is expected to assist the elderly, their families, and health cadres in improving the health of elderly individuals with hypertension.

Soebandi Indonesia , Ulfatus Nafisyah Fakultas Ilmu Kesehatan, Universitas dr. Soebandi IndonesiaBreast cancer (Ca Mammae) is the second most common cancer in women worldwide and contributes significantly to a number of deaths each year. Breast cancer can be prevented through primary prevention strategies, namely BSE. However, this is still rarely done due to factors such as inadequate knowledge, supportive attitudes, resulting in low skills to perform BSE independently. The purpose of this article is to provide health education using the experiential learning method, namely by presenting Ca Mamae survivors to improve the skills of respondents. Respondents were 61 students of grade XI SMAN 1 Asembagus Situbondo. The results obtained were: Of the 61 students who became respondents, as many as 41 students (67.2%) had good skills, 19 students (31.1%) had sufficient skills, and only 1 student (1.6%) had poor skills. This shows a significant increase in students' skills regarding BSE after being given health education. This is because using this method that combines cognitive, emotional, and practical aspects is proven to strengthen students' understanding and make information more meaningful and easier to remember.

The low level of knowledge and confidence among adolescents in maintaining their reproductive health remains a challenge that requires the presence of competent and well-trained cadres as facilitators. The implementation methods included intensive training for cadres through participatory approaches, interactive lectures, focus group discussions, case simulations, and practical sessions on educational communication with adolescents. Cadres were equipped with Triad KRR materials—sexuality, HIV/AIDS, and drugs—as well as basic counseling techniques, self-efficacy enhancement strategies, and peer education methods. Evaluation was carried out through pre- and post-tests, observation of practice sessions, and participant feedback. The results showed a significant improvement in cadres’ knowledge, communication skills, and ability to deliver reproductive health education. Cadres also demonstrated increased confidence in identifying adolescent problems and effectively conveying Triad KRR messages. In addition, adolescent participation in cadre-facilitated educational activities increased. The program recommends ongoing mentoring for cadres to ensure continuity of education, the provision of standardized Triad KRR modules, and stronger collaboration with schools and community health centers to expand the reach of adolescent reproductive health education.

Lailil Fatkuriyah Universitas dr. Soebandi Indonesia , Ulfia Fitriani Universitas dr. Soebandi Indonesia , Ainul Hidayati Universitas dr. Soebandi Indonesia , Umi Sukowati Universitas dr. Soebandi IndonesiaNutritional disorders among adolescents remain a major public health challenge in Indonesia, as indicated by the persistently high prevalence of anemia and obesity in this age group. Various factors contribute to adolescent nutritional problems, including low nutritional knowledge, the habit of skipping breakfast, and high consumption of fast food and low-nutrient foods. Many students at SMP Kartika IV-4 Jember still practice unhealthy eating patterns and have never received balanced nutrition education. This community service activity in the form of nutrition education was conducted to improve adolescents’ knowledge and attitudes toward balanced nutrition. The nutrition education was delivered to 25 tenth-grade students of SMP Kartika IV-4 Jember and covered the principles of balanced nutrition, examples of unhealthy foods and beverages, and various nutritional disorders among adolescents, using PowerPoint presentations and leaflets as educational media. The results showed that balanced nutrition education had a significant effect on students’ levels of knowledge and attitudes (p value < 0,001). School-based nutrition education is therefore essential as an effort to promote healthy eating behaviors by improving knowledge and attitudes toward balanced nutrition among adolescents, thereby contributing to the prevention of nutritional problems in this population.

Trisna Vitaliati Vitaliati Indonesia , Widya Dewi Safitri IndonesiaThe Primary Service Integration Posyandu (ILP) is a strategic policy in strengthening community-based primary health services that requires the readiness and capacity of posyandu cadres as the main implementers at the community level. However, the limited knowledge of cadres regarding the concept and implementation of the ILP Posyandu is still an obstacle in its implementation. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge of posyandu cadres about the ILP Posyandu through structured training. The implementation method includes interactive lectures, discussions, and simulations which were attended by 30 posyandu cadres in the work area of the Binakal Health Center. Evaluation was carried out using a knowledge questionnaire through pretest and posttest. The results of the evaluation showed an increase in the average cadre knowledge score from 56.3 before training to 82.7 after training. In addition, the percentage of cadres with a good level of knowledge increased from 3.3% in the pretest to 76.7% in the posttest. Cadres also show a better understanding of the concept of service integration, the flow of services of the ILP Posyandu, as well as the roles and duties of cadres in supporting its implementation. This activity proves that the training of posyandu cadres is effective in increasing the knowledge and readiness of cadres in the implementation of the ILP Posyandu. Therefore, continuous cadre training is recommended as a strategy to strengthen community-based primary health services.
